Sydney Airport Car Park

Fabritecture was contracted for the design & construction of a 3-layer ETFE pneumatic cushion skylight on top level of the existing the multi-storey car park at Sydney Airport in Mascot NSW. Clear ETFE was selected for all three layers to provide the maximum light transmission into the space below.

Covering approximately 217m² (2,335ft²), there are 10 ETFE cushions within the structure. The outer layers of the cushions comprise of 200um ETFE foil and the middle, non-structural layer, 80um ETFE foil. Fabritecture was also responsible for the design and construction of the aluminium façade cladding around the perimeter of the skylight which comprised 4 mm aluminium wall cladding with double sided powder coated finish to match the existing steel work. 21171
