Modbury Bowls Club, Adelaide’s best bowling club located in the Adelaide foothills, recently underwent an upgrade which the addition of a brand new, state-of-the-art architectural canopy over two of the club’s synthetic greens. The $1.6M upgrade was jointly funded by Modbury Bowls Club, Tea Tree (SA) council, and the State Government for completion in July 2022. Fabritecture was engaged directly by the council for the design and construction of two custom twin arch canopies with high-grade PVC/Polyester cladding covering a plan area of 3360 m2. The construction included lighting, water management, and PA system.
The project was completed to provide the club members with additional weather protection from rainfall and sun, but also to allow year-round playing conditions for all members.
The project had major access restrictions and great care was taken during installation to ensure zero damage to the high cost existing greens and to minimize time off the green for club members. 22018
