Fabritecture was engaged to design and install a custom PTFE shade structure for the rooftop terrace at the historic Churchill Downs racetrack. The elevated terrace required a refined, functional solution that would enhance guest comfort while preserving the energetic atmosphere of one of the world’s most iconic venues in equestrian sport.
Fabritecture delivered the full supply and installation of a 12,250 sqft PTFE shade system engineered to complement the multi-level building architecture. Working with the project’s design team, the structure was developed to meet the client’s request for a bright, airy, weather-protected environment that supports year-round events.
The system features a lightweight PTFE membrane supported by a custom structural steel frame, providing durability, longevity, and balanced light transmission ideal for high-traffic hospitality spaces.
