BAC Taxi Shade

The BAC Taxi Shade project was a large-scale shade structure, designed to provide shade for taxi drivers as they waited for passengers. Manufactured for durability and longevity, an important goal for the finished product was to avoid a repeat of the previous structures failing.

Due to a history of failure for the original structure, strength in design was a very important aspect. Infill panels were incorporated between fabric panels to block direct sunlight, and custom design holes were strategically implemented into the fabric for hail to fall through.

Fabritecture’s custom solution incorporates custom mesh material and connection details to withstand the environment. The structure is durable, yet aesthetically functional, and provides the taxi drivers with shade. 14060
