Job Vacancy: Safety & Compliance Manager (AUS)

Fabritecture is recruiting for a full-time Safety & Compliance Manager to join their team and work alongside their Project Management and Construction Management teams.

You will be responsible for managing both safety protocols and on-site safety for projects which could range from smaller roof and facade structures through to architecturally designed multi-million-dollar projects.

The role needs a pragmatic individual who understands the site environment and construction process of top tier building sites. Working directly with Project Managers, clients and site-based team members, this role will be ensuring compliance with safety regulations and internal processes.

This is an office-based role with some travel to attend sites from time to time.

The Ideal Candidate

Core Components of the Role

  • Drive safe workplace culture through education and focus on positive behavioural safety practices in the office and on site
  • Identifying and managing safety and compliance risks
  • Review and recommendations of SWMS, compliance documentation and construction methodologies
  • Supporting onsite safety operations during project installation including site audits
  • Attending key project safety and risk meetings
  • Management of incidents, and Workcover claims
  • Assist with project resourcing and site crew management
  • Support safety and technical site enquiries as required
  • Support and oversee site documentation to ensure site personnel are educated on new processes or process breaches

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • 5+ of site experience working with mid to top tier builders
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Computer savvy
  • Conflict management experience in a site environment
  • Methodical with an eye for detail and practical understanding procedural requirements
  • Safety qualification such as Cert IV
  • Internal audit certification or desire to obtain one
  • Demonstrated ability to look for practical solutions
  • Understanding of working at heights requirements
