M6 Community Recreational Facility – Rockdale, Australia
The project features a combination of mesh shade structures, elegantly clad with shade cloth, and sleek aluminium architectural metal structures. What sets these metal structures apart are the custom artwork perforations in the panels, adding a unique aesthetic that seamlessly integrates with the community’s landscape.
Fabritecture’s expertise in architectural metals turns ordinary spaces into extraordinary experiences, making McCarthy Reserve not only a hub for recreation but also a visual landmark in the Bayside Community.
Westfield Chermside – Chermside, Australia
The Urchin stands out not just for its intricate design but also for its significance in Fabritecture’s portfolio. This project marked our first major architectural undertaking that entirely omitted fabric, showcasing our versatility and innovative approach to using metals.
Mater Townsville Hospital Car Park
When we took on the challenge of redesigning the Mater Townsville Hospital Car Park facade, we didn’t just aim to make it look better—we sought to revolutionise its functionality. Located in the heart of the Mater Townsville Pimlico Campus, this multi-level car park was ready for a transformation that would seamlessly blend form and function.
Our vision for the project involved a clever use of architectural metals, specifically aluminium screens and louvres. These elements were not chosen merely for their sleek, modern appearance. The aluminium screens added a striking visual appeal, transforming the car park into a contemporary landmark. Beyond aesthetics, these screens provided crucial shade and shelter, protecting vehicles from the harsh Australian sun.
Equally important were the louvres, which played a dual role in enhancing the structure’s functionality. They allowed for efficient ventilation, ensuring that the car park remained well-ventilated and cool. Additionally, they offered precise control over natural light, creating a brighter, more inviting space without the need for excessive artificial lighting.
Westfield Carousel – Cannington, Australia
When Westfield Carousel embarked on a stunning AUD$35 million redevelopment, the goal was clear: to elevate the shopping experience with over 60 new retailers, a chic rooftop dining area, and a captivating fashion project. Fabritecture played a pivotal role in this transformation, using innovative architectural metals to reshape and redefine the space.
Our scope was to craft a series of custom structures designed to provide shade for patrons in the alfresco area. The client envisioned architectural tree-like canopies that not only offered functionality but also became a striking visual feature.
The tree-shaped canopies, constructed from coated mild steel, are adorned with aluminium louvres. Each louvre blade, meticulously designed with custom endcaps and connection cleats, enhances both the aesthetic and functionality of the structures. To ensure a seamless blend with the overall design, we applied a specialised PVDF paint system in a metallic finish, accentuating the modern, sophisticated look of the redevelopment.
Springfield Park n’ Ride – Springfield, Australia
At Fabritecture, we’re passionate about transforming spaces and creating visually stunning, functional structures with the innovative use of architectural metals. A perfect example of our expertise is the custom facade we designed and constructed for ADCO Constructions at the Springfield Park ‘N Ride car park in Brisbane, Australia.
Our team meticulously crafted a facade that seamlessly blends durability with aesthetics, featuring an array of high-quality materials. The stainless steel mesh, made from ferruled 316-grade stainless steel, boasts a distinctive 50mm x 25mm opening. This not only provides a sleek, modern look but also ensures long-lasting performance against the elements.
We incorporated aluminium Z purlins, skilfully roll-formed into 400mm and 250mm profiles, each with a 25-micron anodised finish. This meticulous anodising process grants the material a remarkable 25-year warranty, ensuring that the facade remains a testament to durability and style for decades. Adding to the aesthetic structure are the aluminium screen frames, which feature aluminium C channels in RHS perimeter frames. This combination of materials and design elements results in a striking facade that enhances the car park’s overall aesthetic while providing essential functionality.
Our architectural metal projects exemplify how innovation and design excellence can transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary landmarks. From the artistic installations at M6 Community Reserve to the sleek, functional structures at Westfield Chermside and Mater Townsville Hospital, our work is a testament to the versatility and aesthetic potential of architectural metals. Whether it’s creating visually stunning canopies at Westfield Carousel or designing a durable, modern facade for Springfield Park ‘N Ride, we consistently deliver on both form and function.
