The Scarborough Foreshore project was part of an AUD$100 million redevelopment master plan for Scarborough in Western Australia. Spearheaded by renowned Whadjuk artist Sharyn Egan and visionary architect Fred Chaney, this redevelopment was made possible through funding from the State Government and the City of Stirling, spanning an expansive 100-hectare site. The master plan included the construction of a playground, skate park, and an upgrade to the beach front promenade.
Our scope of the project included the design & construction of three steel-framed arbour structures that were to be installed as part of a regional redevelopment of Scarborough.
The structures are comprised of 31 architectural ‘tree-like’ stands that support the mesh & realise the architectural concept of the structures. A complex cabling system is integrated throughout the structures to support future plant growth. They are placed along the South beachfront, North beachfront, and Intergenerational Plaza of Scarborough. 16232
